My First Ever Visit To An OB-Gyne

Believe it or not, I reached 27 years without ever having the guts or the realization that every woman needs to see an OB-Gyne regularly as soon as she gets her period. Including frequent visits to an OB-Gyne to your routine is as important as having an annual medical check-up for over-all health or regular dental visits for oral health.

Now that I'm pregnant, there's no reason for me not to go. Earlier today, we we went to a friend's recommended OB-Gynecologist.

The doctor's first question was an irritating..."So, what's the problem?"
In my mind, I was like, "What problem?!" I just took it as a compliment that maybe she thought that my husband and I look young to be pregnant.
;-p

Anyway, I was expecting an internal examination (IE) to be done (and I came  prepared O_o), but the doctor said that it's too early for me to have that. Whew! According to her calendar, I am only 4 to 5 weeks pregnant.

Before that, she had me take another pregnancy test (now that's Pregnancy Test #4) to confirm that I am expecting. Of course, it's positive. As part of the drill, she gave me laboratory examination requests, including a request for ultrasound to check the fetus' heartbeat. Lastly, she  gave me a multivitamin prescription (Mosvit) and maternity milk samples (Anmum).

She also advised that the first few weeks or first few months are the most delicate part of pregnancy. Utmost care is needed, she said.

Now, it's 4x official.

I'M PREGNANT!
